I was kind of wondering how old you were after I saw Mufasa and Scar being mentioned. Now, I understand… LOL! No but on a serious note, UNFORTUNATELY spammers will always exist. That obviously stinks, especially for those of us who take internet marketing seriously. But I have to say that in addition to the “Hey man great post”, it just kills me when I see people saying “Yeah I agree…” and nothing else. I have to also add that at least I do not see as many spammers on blogs as I do forums. YIKES, things in some forums can get really scary.

Great post.

I see all these types of comment spammers. Great job explaining them. I really dont see how any of these types of spamming is actually successful. I delete every one that comes through before they are posted, or my spam filter kills before I see it.

The spam just grows on your blog, I started my wordpress blog with spam, I don't know how they get it, but they get the info about new blogs really quick and they start spamming. I should say that identifying spam is really easy but it is better if you use a plugin to make it automated. .-= gautam hans´s last blog ..The Art of Commenting =-.

Interesting post. Being new to blogging, I haven’t had to deal with much spam yet. I’ve always thought that getting spam comments is a good sign that your blog is starting to gain visibility on the internet, but of course it’s also a big hassle to deal with. Once I start getting spam on my new blog I’ll be able to identify it better thanks to your descriptions.
