I make at least 3-4 article go viral a weeks. Find friends, stumble stuff that upon users tend to like, like pictures, video and short snappy content. I also occasionally stumble other stuff, which is important too. Post when Eastern US people just get to work 8am, take lunch 1200pm-2pm, leave work around 5pm or at night around 8 or 9pm. On the weekends also works. Just thing about when you'd be home with enough time to browse or get a minute at work. Also always leave a review and a catchy head line. Think of how News does it on TV....Instead of "2 kids missing in CA" try something like "2 kids missing in CA, find out how you kids could be at risk." People tend to bounce off the page almost as quickly as they get there. Also, paying money to get your page viewed is wasteful.
