Keyword Winner Review – Keyword Research For Your WordPress Blog

by Sushant Risodkar · 23 comments

Keyword Research is one of the important things you will have to perform as an affiliate marketer or blogger to gain best Google rankings and search engine exposure.

In my previous article on How To Craft Search Engine Optimized Titles That Get Clicks I wrote the importance of choosing right keyword for your title and how you can utilize some tools available on the web to perform this keyword research.

One of the most popular and well known keyword research tool is undoubtedly Google Keyword Tool which everyone prefers using. But if you are a lazy person who finds it annoying to go to the main website, solve the captcha, select various options to do the keyword research then you may find keyword winner wordpress plugin quite useful. I just had a chance to try this wordpress plugin and here’s my keyword winner review.

What Is Keyword Winner?

Keyword Winner is a premium wordpress plugin that enables you to do the keyword research right from your wordpress dashboard. Using Keyword Winner you will be able to choose the RIGHT keywords to include in your title that will help you gain rankings. It’s a well known secret(really?) that keyword in title helps a lot when you want to rank good on Google search and Keyword Winner helps you find those keyword.

How Does Keyword Winner Works?

Keyword Winner as told earlier is a premium wordpress plugin. Just like any other wordpress plugin, it is also very easy to install and operate.

The main fun starts when you are writing the post.

When you are in blog editor mode; you will see keyword winner in action while writing for the first time. You will see a simple box where you need to enter your target keyword and then keyword winner will display suggestions for that keyword alongwith percentage of competition, number of competing pages and monthly trends to know in which month people usually search for that keyword more.

Have a look at it:

Let’s Do A Little Experiment With Keyword Winner …

As I got chance to review keyword winner, I thought why not include a small experiment I performed in this keyword winner review.

So let’s begin the experiment…

As you can see, I performed a keyword research for a popular niche “parenting advice”. Upon clicking the “Get Suggestions” button, keyword winner starts fetching the results utilizing Google’s API. From my experience, I think the loading time takes a little time when you are doing keyword for some popular keyword. The time taken is not too high but still I would like it to be reduced in future releases.

So, after that, here’s what keyword winners gives:

Look… Keyword Winner gave the keyword suggestions! As you can see, keyword winner gathered various keyword suggestions for our main keyword that we entered and highlighted it in various colors.

Nowadays it’s hard to find low competitive keywords on Google for popular phrases but still you can try hunting down for that green highlighted keyword while using keyword winner. It will be a winning moment for you 😀

I recently got an updated version of keyword winner 2.0. I couldn’t come up with a keyword winner 2.0 review so thought to tell you about what’s new in keyword winner 2.0 in this review itself…

Keyword Winner 2.0 Updates are as follows –

  1. Inlink Competition from Yahoo
  2. “Add to Tags” option
  3. Rank Competition Checker color highlight in post area in admin
  4. Performance Boosting Tweaks

Keyword Winner – Pricing and Is It Worth Using?

Keyword Winner undoubtedly saves your precious time while keyword researching and it’s a must buy if you are a wordpress blogger or affiliate marketer that hugely depends on search engine traffic for making money online.

Keyword Winner comes in two various pricing plans.

  1. Single-Site License = $47
  2. Unlimited Blog License = $97

If you are an affiliate marketer that builds niche blogs and review blogs constantly, then unlimited blog license if what you should purchase otherwise single-site license would help you enough in handling your main income blog. So decide what you want and do check out the FAQ page on keyword winner site before going for any license to get your doubts cleared.

Ooh! Many many thanks for such a good article! I use Wordpress constantly and as far as I can see it might ease a lot of my actions there, however, as it was mentioned earlier it’s a pitty that there are no tips about optimization there, anyway I’m ready to try.. : )

Hey guys, thanks for all the positive comments, I hope you have all enjoyed using the plugin and are already seeing awesome results, I recently did a case study on Keyword Winner in action!

This is an awesome plugin, especially for the lazy ones. However, is it really worth it? Will have to ask some fellow bloggers who use this and what they think about it.

I use market samurai right now for my research. Does keyword winner do anything that ms doesn’t? I’m always on the lookout for time savers.

Typhoon November 19, 2010 at 6:35 pm

Well, I haven’t tried Market Samurai personally but Keyword Winner saves your little time if you build niche blogs on wordpress platform. As of know, I only remember one guy who is using both of them. You can hop over to his blog: and can ask him this question. He will definitely be able to help you out understand the difference.

The main difference between Keyword Winner and Market Samurai is that KW is actually embedded into the blog dashboard and you can do the research and writing all in one place, which is totally cool. I love MS also and use them both… But I really like the way KW turns my blog dashboard into a research center.

Very good plugin i bought it 2 weeks ago and its really helping me to choose good keywords, i think its really worth this price.

Gina Jennings January 16, 2011 at 12:32 pm

I had it at first, just to try it out. Then I cancelled it so that I could try other keyword tools. Now, I want to buy this back, but I have to save up for it now. It really is much easier to use than anything else.

I should have kept it the first time.

Keyword Winner is actually a heck of a good plugin. I had some trouble getting it up and runnin at first but I got good support and the matter was quickly resolved. There are some file permissions that need to be changed and I had overlooked that. But I can say that KW is again giving me hope with this online business. I am glad I bought it and recommend it to any serious blogger. I heard that there is a 2.0 Keyword Winner version coming out. Is that true? Will we have to pay again for it? What is going to be the difference in terms of more features etc…? Does anyone have any info that they could share? Thank you!
