Hello Readers. I know many of you were waiting for the results of guest blogging gone crazy contest that was organized recently on this blog…Well that day has come when I am happy to unveil the winners of the 5 cash prize winners of this contest.

This contest had $1050 in cash prize to be won by 5 top performing guest authors and many authors participated as well as actively promoted their guest post to fight for their place in the winners list.

Here is again, the prizes for top 5 places if you have forgotten that:

By organizing this contest, I learned many new things. I also noted few points related to conducting a contest on which I will be improving on in the next contest that will be organized in near future…plus I also understood that it’s not a good idea to organize such a big contest during college days (when it’s hard to find time) So most probably the next big contest like this one will be organized during my long holiday break…But don’t worry, I will be conducting some contests on a smaller level sooner or later on this blog.

It really did take a lot of time for me to calculate the points. Going through all the collected data; checking the dates, IP addresses, pageviews log, seeing if anything was unusual in the collected data etc. is really not an easy job. But I somehow managed to complete the calculation stuff and can report you the correct results today (although not 100% accurate)…

On 7^th of October, all the guest posts that were submitted before 25^th September for inclusion in SmartBloggerz’s Guest Blogging Gone CRAZY Contest were completely rolled out and published.

CLARIFICATION : What Is Stumbleupon Like/Share And Where Can You See The Count?

Recently, I had one guest author who was having some confusion about the stumbleupon count. So I want to clarify what I will be counting during the final tally and what you should NOT assume. Have a look at the screenshot below:

The above screenshot shows StumbleUpon count for the official contest post. As you can see, the StumbleUpon box shows a number (75). This is what I am NOT going to count.

The REAL share/like count for your post appears when you click that button and hop over to the stumbleupon page of that url; in this case – http://www.stumbleupon.com/url/www.smartbloggerz.com/2011/08/guest-blogging-contest-gone-crazy/.

I hope this explanation clarifies this doubt if you were having it in your mind.

The blog hasn’t been updated from last 5 days and the credit goes to my college. It made me so tired and busy throughout these past few days which made it impossible for me to update the blog with new content.

Promote Your Guest Post Using HIGH CTR Banners

From last some days, I was thinking how one can promote his/her guest post entry to earn more points and that too free. I decided there is nothing better than asking your own visitors. So, I created two HIGH CTR banners which you can easily edit to add your gravatar and link it to your guest post here. You can easily put these banners on your blog to promote your guest post.

To edit these banners, just open it in paint and put your gravatar in place of the white box. Make sure you save it in the same image format (.png) otherwise the quality will go bad.

1. 250 x 250 Banner (Recommended)

Grab your gravatar and place it on the white box. Make sure it should be of  80×80 px. size so that it covers the space completely.

By the way, the author box that appears below your guest post on this blog shows the gravatar of the same size. So you can just save it your computer and place it there.

In this banner, you have to place a 40×40 px. size gravatar. Just resize your gravatar which you can get from the trick mentioned above.

That day is very close when I will begin the Guest Blogging Gone Crazy Contest – Season II on SmartBloggerz.
