Now, to see your traffic and referrals for the current day you need to make at least three clicks but with this handy bookmarklet generator you will need only one!

Blogger Platform users it’s time that you can say Hurray! because popular wordpress plugin CommentLuv which I am using it in my blog to share luv with my commentators is now also available for Blogger users.

This actually got released a week ago but I didn’t blogged about it at that time as the site(www.js-kit.com) was having some problems with their servers while installation. But now everything is good and I have tested it on my blogspot test blog.

It is actually a part of JS-kit Intense Debate commenting system which can be installed very simply. During installation it will back up all your existing comments and will keep a copy of all comments in sync with your blog so you can stop using it any time. It even allows you to take your comments with you when you move blogs. This commenting system allows your readers to comment with many choices plus they can also add their pictures while commenting.

One of the reader recently commented on my blog to know how I show some widgets on the blog main page and it hides away on the content or item pages. The answer of this I will say that I use Conditional Tags in my Blogger Template which gives “condition” to any widget that where to appear and where not to. I am using these conditional tags at many places in my blog.

So through this post I will teach you that how you can easily make use of these Conditional Tags in your template and easily play with the positions of your widgets

So first let me tell you the proper definition of Conditional Tags according to blogger.

Ok; so you got the definition now let’s move on to How you can implement it.

Implementation

First make sure to make a full backup of your existing template before attempting these Conditional Tags.

So before using these tags in your template; first just add any widget in your blog by the default way.
Now when you have added it Go to Layout > Edit HTML > Click on the Expand Box

Then search for any widget by the name which you have given it as title.

If you want to make an widget appear on main page only then we will use the following code:

<b:if cond=’data:blog.pageType == &quot;index&quot;>
</b:if>

Now let me tell you how to paste it:

Place <b:if cond=’data:blog.pageType == &quot;index&quot;> tag just after the opening <b:includable id=’main’> tag and Place the closing </b:if> tag just before the closing </b:includable> tag.

If you want to make an widget appear on main page only then we will use the following code:

Now let me tell you how to paste it:

It’s almost the same thing to do just replace <b:if cond='data:blog.pageType == &quot;index&quot;> with <b:if cond='data:page.type == &quot;item&quot;'> from the above method.

By this method you can display any special widget on any special page which is important for it.

For this we will use the following code:

Just add <b:if cond='data:blog.url == "BLOG_PAGE_URL"'> in the same way in the above mention methods just in this replace BLOG_PAGE_URL with the URL where you want the widget to appear.

By this method you can display any widget on any specific label page. For example you may have posts on books and when the label books is clicked in your blog the sidebar will show a widget which you have added specially for books.

For this we will use the following code:

Now let me tell you how to paste it:

Just use the above code i.e <b:if cond='data:blog.url == "http://BLOG_NAME.blogspot.com/search/label/LABEL_NAME"'> in the same as we did for Displaying widgets only on homepage.

Here, replace BLOG_NAME with your blog actual name and LABEL_NAME with the label which is currently being used in your blog and where you want it to appear.

If you are a blogger user then you might know that old ugly looking link for Newer-Older Posts and Homepage. So I decided to change this thing in my blog and now will tell you how to do it in your blog easily. This will help you in easy blog navigation for your blog readers also it will look more attractive than previous thus it will help in increase in page views.

How to do this?

First of all backup your template for any unnecessary problems and for each trick we will go to LAYOUT ► EDIT HTML ► and then click on Expand widget templates.

Then there try to locate this code:

Here part highlighted in Red is for Newer Post link, Green for Homepage and Blue for Older Post link.

Trick1. Modifying the Text

In this trick I will tell you how you can just do a simple gambling of text in your template to make it read better.

Just replace the following parts from the above given code from your template:

• replace <data:newerPageTitle/> with, for example NEXT POST.
• replace <data:olderPageTitle/> with, for example PREVIOUS POST.
• replace <data:homeMsg/> (only the first one) with, for example HOMEPAGE.

In this trick I will tell you how you can just add a nice looking icon near to the text.

To place an Icon before Newer Post or any text which you have used; just place below code before <data:newerPageTitle/>

Here is the code:

To place an Icon after Older Post or any text which you have used; just place below code after <data:olderPageTitle/>

In this trick I will tell you how you can add only images in place of text.

• replace <data:newerPageTitle/> for Next Post with <img src=’YOUR-IMAGE-LINK‘/>
• replace <data:olderPageTitle/> for Older Post with <img src=’YOUR-IMAGE-LINK‘/>
• replace <data:homeMsg/> for Homepage with <img src=’YOUR-IMAGE-LINK‘/>

Make sure to replace the highlighted part above with your image link.

Well this is new gadget specially for blogger users. This gadget shows your blog post randomly one by one with excerpt. You can easily install it in 3 steps and can place it above the posts or somewhere else.

Now let me tell it’s features first provided from the author...

1. Shows one post title at a time.
2. Links to the post.
3. Shows post excerpt also.
4. Every 5 seconds shows a new post.
5. Cycles through all the posts in the blog.
6. Starts a new cycle at the end of the list.
7. Once loaded continues cycling even when not connected to the Internet.
8. Uses official Google AJAX technology.
9. Can be used on other blogging platforms (not tested).
10. Hovering with mouse cursor over the post title halts the rotation till mouse moves off the gadget.

How It Works?

To save space and yet show all posts one by one this gadget uses official Google AJAX API Feed technology and the Dynamic Feed Control. It fetches the post titles and data from your blog and displays it in the gadget.

In the following code above you have to first edit the things which are marked in bold Otherwise it won’t work for you.

Change “MYBLOG” to actual blog subdomain which you registered with and “BLOG_TITLE” to actual title of your blog. And after that Click on Save Button.
