This year, SmartBloggerz remained at PR4 but it gained PR1 from previous year. One of my autopilot blog gained a PR1 and rest remained at zero.

The Rule I broke was that the links were do-follow in the text link and banner ads.

After that, I just went and made all of them NoFollow and striclty added a clause in the “Advertise Page” about this. Then I filed in a Re-Consideration Request in Google and the result was that the PageRank was recived back and now all my readers can enjoy it.

The Interesting Thing which I have noticed in this PageRank Update of my blog is that many of my URL’s which are redirected are having greater PageRank than my blog i.e greater than PR4.

Actually I don’t know what actually a “Toolbar PageRank Update” means but from Seroundtable I got this info about it:

A Toolbar PageRank update means nothing in terms of your ranking changing anytime soon. The PageRank scores shown in the toolbar are outdated and have zero direct impact on your Google rankings. That doesn’t mean that PageRank has no influence, but the toolbar score does not have any influence. Google shows us one thing, but yet uses another thing.

My PageRank is still the same i.e PR4 as it was on April 1st Update.

So today I will tell you about a thing which many of you might have not observed carefully but yes this thing is provided by Google which gives you a Pagerank estimation but not in numbers; it gives estimation in the form of stats(historogram).

So What is it?

The thing is called ‘Google Webmaster Tool’. If you have signed up for this thing and have submitted your blog and also have verified it then you can easily get your Pagerank estimation by Google itself.

But How?
The thing is very simple. Just move into your Google Webmasters Account, there on the Dashboard, click on any of your listed blog whose Pagerank estimation you want to know.
After clicking on your respective blog, click on ‘Statistics’ which is listed on left hand side of your screen.
Then there, Click on ‘Crawl stats’ of that blog. Then scroll to the last, there you would see something like this:

As you can see a part of it is titled with ‘The PageRank of your pages in Google’. This is what the thing we were looking for. Here you can see easily that how your pages are rated in Google plus it also tell the page of our blog with highest Pagerank every month.

So in this way you can come to know how much work your have to do to promote your blog to get the highest possible Pagerank.
According to my thinking; Pages with Pagerank 1-3 are categorized in ‘low’ ; Pages with Pagerank 3-6 are categorized as ‘medium’ and Pages with Pagerank 6-10 are categorized as ‘Highest’ but it’s only my thinking.

I think we can easily belive on this tool since Pagerank is developed by Google and this cool thing is also developed by google. So there is almost very low chances that it gives almost poor estimatation.

PageRank is basically a conceptual method of using the way websites Link together to deduce their relative importance. For example, many people might link to the BBC News website, that means it is a relatively important site while Joe Bloggs’ homepage might only be linked to by a few close friends and family, which again reflects its relative importance.

The Question Might be can we increase PageRank? The answer would be Yes,it’s possible.Having more people linking to your website will certainly result in the increase of your site’s PageRank but it will only increase its importance not its relevance.

Many bloggers buy text link with Websites with higher PR (6, 7, 8), and those websites often make money by selling links to sites with lower PR. As Google states, if they are aware that sites are selling PR instead of just advertising space both the buyer and seller may be penalized. The penalty may take the form of a lower position in SERPs and/or a downgrade of PR. Thus, we recommend that you do not buy links simply for a higher PR.

Now the question might have arisen that how google calculates the PR?The answer to this is stated below..

The original formula Google used to measure the PR of a page is

PR(A) = (1-d) + d(PR(t1)/C(t1) + … + PR(tn)/C(tn))

Though no one is not sure whether Google still uses this formula, it is probable that the new Google PR formula is very similar. In this formula:

PR(A) is the PageRank of the page you are trying to measure

• d is a damping factor considered to be about 0.85
• tn is the PR of the n th incoming link page
• C is the number of outgoing links from each page that has a link to you

As you can see, the more links from higher PR pages the better; fewer the outgoing links from the sending page, better the results on the receiving page. Theoretically, an exclusive link from a PR4 page is better than a PR7 link that has 50 links to other pages.

I am still looking for PageRank and I have to wait again a lot since i have changed the domain name due to which all the hard work done by me in making useful backlinks have no value now…

Finally, just remember what my freind said that the Internet is NOT all about PageRank!
