Blogging on your own blog is one thing.  Writing a guest blog for someone else is another thing altogether.

There’s a very intriguing give-and-take phenomenon that happens with almost all relationships formed from guest blogging.

Your host has to be willing to back your thoughts by simply being willing to allow them to appear on his blog, which, in itself, brings up some vulnerability. He also has to be willing to proofread and edit to insure that his standards are met.  There’s always time spent on his part.

And then, there are you, the guest.

You have to be willing to send off your precious words and thoughts to another who has freewill to edit and do as he will with whatever you give him.  That takes major vulnerability and trust.

Really, when you consider the odds that two people would see eye to eye on something so personal as writing, it’s amazing guest posting happens at all, let alone as often as it does.

A few days ago, I was blessed with the opportunity to run into a great product called Guest Post Secrets. Don’t worry, I’m not trying to sell you anything. The product was written by Erica at Erica.biz. At age 26, Erica sold her first business (a hosting company) for $1,100,000.00. After watching the videos provided in Guest Post Secrets, I learned that I was missing 1 component to blogging that was really keeping me from being successful.

This is a guest post by Brandon Connell who teaches you how to make money blogging at BrandonConnell.com.

I have been a madman over the past few months, as I discussed in my recent blog post about my  guest posting activities which I used to lay all of my articles on the table.

I have written a few articles about how guest posting will increase your commentary and traffic. But what I didn’t cover was how you would benefit even further by guest posting on a previously published blog.

The first thing to keep in mind when you consider guest posting is that you must guest blog. This is the best way to find new audience and promote your blog.

The second important thing to remember is that a few (or many) of your guest post pitches will fail. You should learn to accept rejection: this is natural, everyone fails sometimes, even the best among us.
