PLR Products Can Give Your Blog A Boost

This is a guest post by Laurie Neumann from InternetMarketingPLRContent.com.

Do you ever feel that your blog is a little on the stagnant side?

You’ve written what you can,  but have no new ideas to write about.  And even if you did have a great idea, who has the time to write all these well thought-out posts?  Does this sound familiar?

One way you can breathe some life back into your blog is by using PLR products.  We all know that providing good quality content is of the utmost importance for any business to thrive.

FACT:  You need to consistently provide fresh content to your market.

FACT:  That is difficult to do on a regular basis (Unless you absolutely love writing and have a lot of time to do it.)

The outcome is one of two scenarios. You spend a ton of time coming up with new things to write and let the rest of the aspects of your business, such as marketing, suffer.  And we all know that if you don’t spend time marketing your blog, you won’t get any new readers or even maintain the current ones.

Or… your market gets bored and goes elsewhere if you don’t provide what they need.  Neither are good options!

So, what is a blog owner to do to keep their blog growing with good quality, fresh content?  You could hire someone to do the writing for you, but that can really get expensive, and it won’t necessarily have your voice.  I think the better way is to use  PLR content.

Let’s take a look at how you can use it.

PLR Articles

When you buy a pack of PLR articles, you can:

  • Use them on your website or blog
  • Use an article or part of an article for a new post idea
  • Use articles for a blog series – readers love them!
  • Send articles out to your subscriber list in your newsletter
  • Break them up and load  into autoresponder messages that go out when someone signs up for your email list
  • Put them on a membership site
  • Use the content and make an audio or video
  • Bundle them together, add some information and make it into a report or eBook that you sell to your market

PLR Reports

You can do many of the same things as mentioned above when you buy PLR reports, however, they will be a little more report/eBook “friendly.”  Many times when you buy a report, you are also given an ecover that you can use to market it.    So, even though you should still edit it or add to it somewhat, it’s more of a “ready to go” product to sell.  Create the product and promote it on your blog.

These days, you can also get video PLR, which may be fun to try out on your market, if they seem to like watching videos.

With any PLR products you use, it is always recommended that you go through and edit them, add to them, or change them in a way that will make the content sound like “You.”  Your market wants to hear from you, so make sure anything you share with them reflects your own thoughts and way of speaking.

That being said, as we all know, it’s a little unrealistic to think we can handle doing all the writing ourselves and keep our market happy.  That is where PLR comes in and can be a real help.

Think about those days you sit down to write a new blog post and you have no idea what to write about.  Nothing comes to mind, so you spend thirty minutes staring at your computer screen, then go on to something else and leave your blog blank for the day.

Now, what if you could pull out some PLR articles and use one of them to write a good fresh post?  Your readers are happy and you just saved yourself lots of time and frustration.

Do yourself a favor and pick up some quality PLR products.  They are an inexpensive way to provide some great content to your market.  They’re happy, you’re happy, so everyone wins!

  1. Laurie,

Really great post! I for one always get stuck on ideas to blog about…and PLR is my main go-to resource for writing topics. I buy PLR on several different topics in my niche and when I need fresh content, I’ll grab an article to use as the base of my content..and add then add my own thoughts from there or simply rewrite it in my own words and use my own keywords.

PLR has also helped me start new niche sites within a very short time. It’s a real time saver. As much as I may like writing, I could never write as fast without using PLR to guide me a long quickly in creating new content.

  2. Nice post. PLR articles are a great way to get ideas for articles and blog posts. I like that you pointed out to rewrite the PLR articles to make them your own. I’ve seen too many people copy the PLR articles word for word. This does nothing but produce a lot of websites with the exact same content, and cause a lot of duplicates on the web, which Google doesn’t like.

  3. Great article Laurie,

I think is a must to rewrite the PLR articles to put your own style and to avoid the dup content issues. I run an ecommerce website and is always a good idea to add some articles about the products you’re selling.

Where can we buy high quality PLR articles?

  4. Thanks for the comment, Rhonda. PLR, which is information you can purchase and use as your own, can be such a help when you find you have writer’s block. I think that’s one of the biggest advantages of it – it gives you ideas plus information.

As you start doing some editing to it, I think the ideas flow a lot easier than if you were starting from scratch. It can really keep your readers happy by giving them fresh content continually.

  5. Hi Laurie, I appreciate your topic. I’m not anti-PLR (Private Label Rights for those new to the topic), but I always advise people to be very careful when using private label products.

As a marketer that has created and sold many private label products, I know how many of these “identical/duplicate content” pieces are distributed. If just a small percentage of the customers posted the articles on their websites, we could have hundreds of sites (and do, by the way) all posting duplicate content.

Like I said, I’m not anti-PLR, I just think they are better suited as idea generators. I like Rhonda’s use of the products. Read an PLR article, do some research and sit back and write. Just my take on things, thanks.

  6. Hi Laurie,

You are so right as it is really hard to keep up with all the content you need to write for your blog. Unless you love writing and have a very good skill to chuck articles out every other day!

I have used PLR in the past for content and products it is a quick way to get the ball rolling as we are not all gifted writers. Also it can be expensive as you mentioned to hire writers but then you need to look at it in a different perspective.

How long does it take you to write that article or blog post? How much money do you considered your time per hour? Is the end result as professional as you would like. It might make sense to hire a quality writer, but then you are hit with the problem of not only finding a good writer but keeping them too

  7. Very good article. I would like to add a thing or two here.
First, one must take care of the uniqueness of the content if the plr content is to be posted on blog or site. Google hates duplicate content, so one must be creative enough to spin (although I am not a great fan of spinning content) or transform the content in to a unique one. You see, the plr articles you bought were bought by others as well, so posting them verbatim is a strict no go.
Second, If you are a noob in blogging/IM etc, use plr ONLY to take ideas/inspiration, otherwise no matter what you do, your efforts will create junk/spam. Plus, writing your own articles will strengthen your creative side as well.
Hope this makes sense. Great post by the way, Laurie.

  8. PLR products are really helpful especially when you’re out of idea but still you need to write something interesting which appreciated by your readers. Apart from PLR you can get good idea about your next post through you niche forums. People usually ask their problems or doubts in niche and you can answer those things in your next post, that would certainly help you to increase your reader base and exposure to your blog.

  9. Hello Laurie. PLR articles can do it, but you’ll need to rewrite them, definitely, otherwise it’s gonna hurt your blog. But, the amount of effort you put into that you could research a topic by looking for headings in your niche on Ezinearticles and combine say, 3 posts into one strong one (giving credits of course).

  10. Thanks for your helpful comments, everyone. I totally agree that PLR should be changed in order to make it unique. I agree with Rhonda – that it is a great idea generator. Read through the article and then write it up in your own words. Add some of your own examples and stories and you’ll have a great unique piece.

I get stuck in the topic idea stage, so PLR really helps with that.

Mario – to answer your question – it would depend on what niche you’re in. We offer great PLR reports and articles (in my humble opinion:-) if you’re in the internet marketing niche. Just check out the link in my author box. If you’re not in the IM niche, try easyplr.com or http://www.allprivatelabelcontent.com. I hope that helps!
