Should you blog for fun or making money online?

There are lots of controversy going on blogosphere that whether you should blog for fun or to make some decent money online. There are different aspects and you guessed it right that there are certainly no wrong or right answers, only opinions. There are positives and negatives associated with both schools of thought, but there are a few things that both sides have in common.

Most of the time it is found that blogs which are taken cared by “moms” are just for their fun use and their life experience. No matter whether an individual person believes that blogging should or shouldn’t be used for making money online, some people agrees that there should be some guidelines or restrictions to it.

There are few rules or restrictions placed on any type of blogging, but the following courteous rules should be observed to keep a good business reputation.

From past few months a new “blogging scam” has come to light and most believe that it is because so many businesses are using “blogs” to promote their sites. While it is not the fault of those using blogging for business, it is the way the world(we) works.

There is crime, scams and untruths in any field, it simply just takes them a while to figure out how to scam innocent readers. Most agree that blogging should either be used for personal correspondence or business, but never as an untruth or scam of any type. This is bad business and will soon catch up to a scammer.

I blog for both making money and for having some fun. Soon I will be having one more blog which will be related to clickbank (oops I told you the secret) and that I will be using completely for making money.

But what about you? You blog for fun or making money online or for both? like me. Waiting for your response.

  1. I blog for both, If I make money then cool. If not then still cool.

I also want to set up a site for clickbank but the plugins online do not cater for that kind of thing.

  2. i blog for fun…rather i can say for experiece… i just love blogging… many people start blogging just for d sake of money.. even i did..but later realised blogging is not just for money….

        1. Once a blogger is always a blogger. Keep that it mind. I tried quitting blogging before but then I had a come back because I really feel like there’s something missing.

  3. Me? I’m making blog for several reason :
    – i make 1 blog special for sharing about my life, especially about my business life. So it’s pure, not used for MMO
    – i make about 2-3 blog about contest information. Planning to monetize it in the future, but for now, i use it just to inform about contest and also a place to put my contest entry
    – i’m also make a blog about MMO. This one is prepared for monetized. My plan is : flip the site or put an affliate banner

But since some blog planned to be monetized, i’m not playing with it, i’m always try to give my best and write good content

    1. Good plans akira, I think we have similar. I have my personal blog to share my life, contest blog to keep track on contests (and soon, thinking on monetizing it), also i will build up a new site that will earn through google.

  4. Considering me, I started blog for interest over it but now I m getting idea to make money but not sure about it. Though if I get no chance of getting money, I will blog.. 🙂

        1. Too much ads is a no-no. It distracts your readers and visitors and sometimes though you have a good content they will choose not to visit your site again.

  5. I started my blog with an intention to share my ideas with people, but ure kept the monetization in my mind. Making money from the blog is an improtant and it is stimul for blogger to run the blog properly. Sure, if you are making enoguh money from other sources already, you can run it for fun or just to contact with your readers.

        1. But in the other side, it will inspire you to post more since you know in your mind that you’ll earn money after wards.

  6. I don’t think there is a right answer to this question. People blog for different reasons. There are those who do it for the money, those that do it for fun, and those that did it like I did, for fun to make money. As in I found the blogging process fun, learning how to make money on them ect while at the same time enjoying the posts I was writing.
