After long time, it looks like Google PageRank has been updated for many web sites. Though SmartBloggerz HomePage still remains a PR4 blog but I can confirm this news because In October month, due to breaking of some rules of Google Webmaster Policy, I had to live with a N/A PageRank. But My whole blog was properly indexed and was receiving Google traffic.
The Rule I broke was that the links were do-follow in the text link and banner ads.
After that, I just went and made all of them NoFollow and striclty added a clause in the “Advertise Page” about this. Then I filed in a Re-Consideration Request in Google and the result was that the PageRank was recived back and now all my readers can enjoy it.
The Interesting Thing which I have noticed in this PageRank Update of my blog is that many of my URL’s which are redirected are having greater PageRank than my blog i.e greater than PR4.
Here is a list of few of them:
So, What about your PageRank? Has there any change occurred in it?
I checked my blog and I went from PR4 back to PR3. Not upset, just curious to know why. I guess all the changes on my blog has made a difference and I also posted less during the last few weeks.

I lost some PR on a few sites. Interesting about the “nofollow”. I am headed off to change some banners on my main blog.
Also, never though Google would be responsive to a request to re-evaluate page rank… and it worked for you. 🙂
Good info!
Thanks Joe

Same here my pr dropped from 4 to 3 but serps have went up amazingly well… 🙂
Personally if a drop to pr2 would mean more traffic and would take me to be no1 for my keywords on pr2 i would take it rather than pr6 with the very low traffic and serps 😛
I have seen a lot of bloggers mention this in the past couple days. My site’s PR did not change, but it looks like a lot of people saw changes and most of them had their PR decrease. Do you think that as more and more websites/pages are indexed by Google, it becomes harder to accumulate PR? Because if PR is meant to be an indicator of a website’s authority or relevance, with more websites popping up within the same topic it becomes harder to hold the same level of authority on the topic. Seems to make sense to me but it’s just a theory. What do you think about that? -Jason
I think ‘saturation’ just about as valid a theory as any. PR reasoning seems to be only slightly more ambiguous than Taxes. Google seems to have trouble explaining it half the time.

and congrats on getting your blog back to green 😉
I posted about my problem on Webmaster Forums and from their replies I got to know about it.
What a great site you have. Just check that you have a page rank 4 with thousands of strong backlinks, and an alexa of 50,697. That’s amazing! I believe it’s all pure hardworks and efforts to bring in interesting and useful articles.

Great increasement, 2 PR point in one shoot. Congratulations…!!!
Yes for some people like you, pagerank update date is lucky day. That’s why there is a unique contest like : “When next google pr update comes” which offer $100 for people who guess it right.

Thats a cool idea. But the prize money is higher. There are people who guess easily and correctly about this. so u can make the prize to some 20 or 30$

hmmm, let me see. Since links to websites for purpose of making money is pulling the PR down, how about links to government websites and news, will the PR increase?

Yes, I have heard that .edu and .gov sites helps in PR and rankings. You may want to read my post: http://www.smartbloggerz.com/2009/04/generating-powerfull-backlinks-from-edu-forums-including-200-edu-forums-list/
In this, you can find a list of .edu forums.
But are you sure that they (.edu) sites still give more outbound links. Also, if the outbound links, increase the link juice divides more.

Mine’s a PR3. It’s been a PR3 since within two weeks of starting it. It dropped to a PR2, briefly, and I have no idea why. It’s back to PR3, and I still have no idea why. I’m not sure I care. I’m actually quite tired of being grated, ranked, rated, starred, etc. Web 2.0 reminds me, painfully, of middle school.

It’s widely knows as Google Dance in which your PR updates quite many times. But actually you should not worry about it anymore as Google have itself disagreed that it plays any role in Search Rankings. But having an higher PR is a great fun and looks good for those who only work for improving PR.
Haha, but having high PR is not 100% fun. Actually, it can bring people to stress and fear when google pr update is come (just like on 30 October 2009). It’s easiest to reach than to keep, right?

Hmmm no Akira. If we haven’t done, anything violating Google’s TOS and if we are sure in it, then we have no reason to have stress on it. We can be sure, that our PR will stay the same or increase in the update.

@Holly Jahangiri Do you meant you got PR3 in two weeks. Thats amazing. How did you do it. I had three months of blog is live, but I still have only PR 0. Whats the trick to get it done.

Good job on the PR4! We do share the same mark but I’m not really obsessed at it.
Numbers are just plain representations of how we’re doing but that doesn’t mean it’s the totality of who we are as a blogger or as a person either. Bots doesn’t have feelings, humans do. I always have to remind myself that every interaction is an opportunity, you can make it or break it but being true to yourself has its rewards and one of those are readers and commentators that will keep on coming back regardless of what the numbers are.

Though PR is a mere number and completely dependent on Google, it is the view of reputation on our site by other people. So we cant deny it and everyone, is willing to get better PR.
