I am Happy to announce the launch of Commenting Idol – 2 Contest. As I said in my earlier post that it will be going to be bigger and better and I am sure you will believe in that statement after reading out this post.

This time we have increased the cash prize and also have received many valuable prizes from sponsors. Also, this time there will be 2 Bonus Prizes. One will be for “Best Commenter” and other would be for “Best Promoter” about which you will read shortly below.

For Winning Top Commentators Prizes:

  • To Win Prizes being given to Top Commentators, you will have to be amongst Top 5 Commentators of the Month
  • Please Note that the widget in the sidebar is showing Top 10 Commentators of the month
  • You will have to strictly follow the Comment Policy
  • Your main comment should be min. 3 lines long and your replies to other comment could be of 1 line or more.

For Winning Best Commentator Bonus Prize:

  • It doesn’t matter how many comments you made at the end of the contest i.e it won’t matter whether you are in Top Commentators or not.
  • For Winning this prize, you will have to win my mind. The Prize will be given to that person who will make informative comments. It doesn’t matter how much comments he makes.
  • The person will be chosen by me and one can not ask question on the final decision made by me.

For Winning Best Promoter Bonus Prize:

  • Don’t have much time to Comment and take it’s benefit? Don’t worry. If you have a blog and a Twitter Account then you can win prizes in this category.
  • For winning it, Tweet this post (optional) – can increase your chances to win.
  • After tweeting it, make a new blog post on your blog which should consist of the prize list. Please Copy-Paste the Prize Lists as it is From This File (Click Here). You can only edit the styling of it (compulsory).
  • Once you are done with those 2 things, Contact Me With The Subject “Applying For Best Promoter”  and in that include your twitter profile and blog post link.

      1. I always laugh when I hear things like, “I don’t know where you find the time for all that” or “I would, but I just don’t have the time.” Don’t sleep!!

        Okay, kidding about that – we all need sleep. If we slept more, there would be fewer trolls and cranky commenters, I’m sure of it. Still, we find time, somehow. I’m pretty sure I’ve learned how to fold it over onto itself, but I’m not GIVING those secrets away here!

        1. Well, there is 24 hour in a day.
          You can reduce a “time killer” to be used for more usefull things.
          This is the tips from me :

          Sleeping time – 7 hour – Make it to 5 hour
          Bath time – 30 minute – make it to 10 minute
          Playing with friend – 3x a week – make it 2x
          Eating time – 15 minute – make it 10 minute

          In the end, count it and you’ll get surprise with the result

    1. Ya, Everything will be counted whether you comment on my previous articles or new articles. Only which I don’t expect is excessive single lines comments.

    2. Do you mean it’s better to make replying other comment is not counted as entry? Well, i think it’s not top commenting contest concept then…If you limit 1comment/post, then when all article already commented, you’re done.
      Since there is rules created such minimum 1 lines for reply and 3 lines for new comment, current system already great.

    1. Be hard working and be helpful is the only way to win this contest. Between, I planned to start contest like this in my blog before, but as I’m not a full time blogger and this type of contest might take you most of the time to judging the quality of the comment. Also, the daily number of comments might scare you.

      Anyway, I would just enjoy the contest and am not urging for winning the prizes though.

Depends, Lucifer, on how much time someone has to read all the comments, how seriously they take the “judging” part (and their definition of a “quality” comment), whether they have free Internet access or use an Internet cafe or blog from the office, or what. I can see it being overwhelming for some.

          Also, depending on the blog, comment moderation can be time consuming and tricky at the best of times. Some blogs are more prone to controversy and argument than others. (Actually, a huge number of comments aimed at winning a contest could probably HELP some of those blogs – if only to distract from the flamewars! 🙂 )

        2. Then don’t makes commenting contest, but a contest such promoter contest. Yes, i know, comment will comes like crazy. Based on my experience in asking stat increasement on many blog which running commenting contest, their said an incredible amount of comment. For example, on ss101 which collect about 1000+ comment.
          But moderating comment is not too hard, it’s just clicking and clicking. So, don’t be scared too much 😛

        3. Yea comments will not scare people and we will feel proud that our blog has strong feedback from huge commentators, but sometimes is headache to judge the quality of the comment.

          The current lead commentator has 37 comments, means average 9 comments a day, scary man..lol! But anyhow, I enjoy the contest but am not urging to win the prize, just leave comment as usual.

            Well, 9 comment in a day is not that hard.

            If you running commenting contest, there is many consideration :

            – Should you make limit per person. And why?
            – Deadline date, complete with time zone
            – Do you have time to moderate?
            – What is valid comment about?
            – Policy about double or duplicate comment
            – etc…

            Well, my advice is, don’t make too strict rules about comment. Just using this 2 criteria, make it valid and then a lot of people will participate :
            – To the topic (except a reply post, because sometime we’re replying someone post which not too related to topic)
            – Meet the general rules (Example, SB require 3 lines for main comment and 1 for reply).

            I ever participate on one forum posting contest, where the rules is too strict. Until know, i don’t cleary understand why a bit of post padding is disallowed on there.

            I’m got no counted, just because posting like this :
            Yeah, as i’m write before that ” ….a bit post padding to remind people….”, so……………………

I didn’t understand what you meant about “post padding.” And I don’t think an arbitrary number of lines should be required; I think it’s fairly clear if a comment is “on topic” or so vague as to be spam. “nice” is really so generic it’s meaningless anymore, don’t you think? “nice post” (what, you can’t even be bothered to capitalize the first word of a sentence?), “great” (why? what was so great about it?), “please keep blogging” (like I was going to STOP because you said “please STOP blogging?”)…

              1. lol..that seriously some spam kind of statements which I usually don’t like but sometimes in hurry, i mistakenly accept that comment and you may found such comments on my blog few times.

      1. Luck is only on best promoter since it’s random drawing. But for best commenter, Typhoon do own appraisal. Since it’s based on quality, it’s not about luck.

        Yes, commenting contest is about effort. Anyway, i think commenting contest is the hardest and also the easiest. Do you know what i mean?
