I am Happy to announce the launch of Commenting Idol – 2 Contest. As I said in my earlier post that it will be going to be bigger and better and I am sure you will believe in that statement after reading out this post.

This time we have increased the cash prize and also have received many valuable prizes from sponsors. Also, this time there will be 2 Bonus Prizes. One will be for “Best Commenter” and other would be for “Best Promoter” about which you will read shortly below.

For Winning Top Commentators Prizes:

  • To Win Prizes being given to Top Commentators, you will have to be amongst Top 5 Commentators of the Month
  • Please Note that the widget in the sidebar is showing Top 10 Commentators of the month
  • You will have to strictly follow the Comment Policy
  • Your main comment should be min. 3 lines long and your replies to other comment could be of 1 line or more.

For Winning Best Commentator Bonus Prize:

  • It doesn’t matter how many comments you made at the end of the contest i.e it won’t matter whether you are in Top Commentators or not.
  • For Winning this prize, you will have to win my mind. The Prize will be given to that person who will make informative comments. It doesn’t matter how much comments he makes.
  • The person will be chosen by me and one can not ask question on the final decision made by me.

For Winning Best Promoter Bonus Prize:

  • Don’t have much time to Comment and take it’s benefit? Don’t worry. If you have a blog and a Twitter Account then you can win prizes in this category.
  • For winning it, Tweet this post (optional) – can increase your chances to win.
  • After tweeting it, make a new blog post on your blog which should consist of the prize list. Please Copy-Paste the Prize Lists as it is From This File (Click Here). You can only edit the styling of it (compulsory).
  • Once you are done with those 2 things, Contact Me With The Subject “Applying For Best Promoter”  and in that include your twitter profile and blog post link.

    just want to ask one thing…will you count comments made on the post posted in previous months??if it is so, it will be difficult for regular commentators on your blog like me to win because i have been commenting here very regularly and re commenting on previous posts will look like a spam….

    1. The top commentators widget had been reset already(it’s automatic). So only comments made in this month will be counted and you can make comments unlimited times and on any post. It doesn’t matter whether the articles in which you have commented are new or old.

          2. No chance. I will not do a mistake again. On some contest, i relax for 1-2 days because i’m thinking, nothing will happen since my point is have big difference with the other, but when i check, i got shocked when i find my position goes to no.3.

    3. First, there is not just commenting contest. Make the great comment 4-5x and hope you choosen as best commentator. Also try best promoter contest.
      Second, believe or no, i’m also have exam start from next tuesday, well…but i will stick around here at least for 30 minute in a day. On 30 minute, you can make about 4-5 comment, not bad 🙂

  4. Great contest you have here Typhoon! I believe that you will be damn busy approving and rejecting comments as I saw TechZoomIn did the same contest and he received up to 100 comments on a single blog post. Of course, it increases your blog traffic as well as your brand as more people promote your blog.

    You mentioned that the length of comment must not be lesser than 3 lines, that would be kinda interesting and fun if you set the font of the comment to smaller font size, lol just kidding!

      1. Hey it’s not nice idea at all haha…!!! LOL. 3 Line of comment with small font size is equal to about 5-6 normal font size :P. Well, but if it’s just for fun, let’s go for it…!!! Make a special day, when all font size is setted up on 8 😛

      2. lol! I’m just kidding my friend, with the current font size, 3 lines would be little tough but it’s good to avoid spammer though. I’m curious on how you judge the quality of the comment and I see the lead commentator has 37 comments right now, I don’t mean his comments are spam but I’m curious how many comments he left were considered eligible? 😉

  6. This is a great contest. This is the first time that I have read some blog that gives prizes for just commenting. Usually I find contest that gives this kind of prizes but it is too hard to win since it has a lot of requirement just to join the contest.

    2. What contest do you mean have hard requirement to participate? I find mostly contest on internet is easy to participate by just :
      – Make a blog post about the contest –> you can do it less than 10 minute
      – Tweeting – in less than 5 minute
      – Commenting – in less than 2-3 minute
      etc…

      But yes, commenting contest concept is the most easiest, that’s why i wonder why not too many people obsessed to win and effort. Go people, more rocking…!!!

            I find it interesting what kind of effort (or lack of effort) people are willing to put into some things. We’ve probably spent more time chatting in comments here than it would actually take to enter the “Famous Bloggers” contest, yes? But it SEEMS easier. (I actually went through all the steps of the other contest, even though I’m not officially entering. I wanted to be sure it was doable before promoting it. If you take it seriously – I mean, writing the blog post and the guest post, it takes some time and thought – but the prizes make it worthwhile, don’t you think? It just SEEMS hard. I think it’s going to be fairly easy to win, for those willing to put forth the effort – because I’m thinking not many people will.)

        1. I think there should be a rules to control blog post, typhoon. Because there is a kind of people make a bunch of new blog just for contest. How about make the rules like this : Blog age should be 1 month old.

          Actually i have 4 new blog which will be 1 month old at 17 December 2009, so if there is rules like that, of course i will posting about this contest on 17 December 2009.

That’s kind of rare chances that someone will submit more that one contest..If you remember, our first contest “Smart Bloggerz Smart Contest” received many entries and hardly few of the contestants submitted more than 1 blogs..One of them which I remember was probably akira and navjot and may be 1-2 more submitted more than 1 blog.

                I will take care all thing into consideration when one submits more than one blog in this contest.

  8. I had to read your Comment Policy carefully to be sure silliness wasn’t prohibited. Whew! Looks like I’m eligible to enter. I never say “nice blog” – I think that’s a flagged phrase in Akismet (or should be). I did notice one clever spammer taking the opposite tack, once, with something like “interesting post, but you’re wrong” – of course, he didn’t bother to elaborate or argue the point, but it’s an intriguing approach and stands out among those who think flattery will get them past the spam bucket.

    1. Yes, and comment policy + spam prevention system is a great combination. Especially when there is a contest, people will more careful in commenting because their don’t wanna be blacklisted.

          1. After editing them to remove the backlinks, sure. Why not? Well – I take that back. I did that once, and suddenly everyone started using the “approved” address to leave crap on my blog. That’s when I had to learn how to block IP addresses and emails. (Well, okay, so I did LEARN a few new things from the experience.)

              1. From previously, the spam comments(not made by humans, made by bots) have increased..Few weeks back I was too angry and frustrated to see too much spam comments(around 300/day). And I have a habit of checking spam box to see if any valid comment got into there.

                But I don’t think it has any relation to contest.
