With the latest Penguin update, my focus has shifted from building links to building quality content. I still do some backlinking from time to time.. although not as much as before

Thanks for providing strategies for link building, I also prefer to build links using commenting and I favor to comment on those blogs that have top commentators widget, I don’t care whether I’d get dofollow or nofollow hyperlinks.
I think getting a few no-follow links would make all of the links of any website natural and natural links are well-liked by Google as well.

Nice tips but i think the First one can harm a lot you after the latest penguin update,as it considers From where the Links are coming and if someone uses your Themes who is not having good reputation can harm a lot.
