I think it can be very hard to make money on stock photos. There’s simply sooo many people willing to sell their photographs today – plus there are tons of free ressources too.
But I guess it’s possible to earn a few bucks from it if you’re better than average or got a lucky shot or too. But making a living from it, you’ll have to be a very good stock photographer.

I think I would agree with Klaus. It’s the exactly same thing that came to my mind too. This method is now being used to professional photographers a lot and I doubt that a newbie might be able to stand a chance to get paid for his photos in the online market. If you’re really good though, you might still stand a chance.

I never tries such method for making money. It’s a very interesting idea for making some extra earning with our photography skills

Good post Typhoon. I tried Fotolia and dreamstime for selling off photographs and vector images and truly got some good amount. I guess all the people who are interested in photography must give a try to sell their stock photographs.

there might some sites which offer royalty/copyright free images but I think they have very less collection of images..Can you tell a site which offers free cost/copyright free photos that can be used by people without any fear..? I would surely like to have look over that site.

you won’t need any specific skills as a newbie..You can try taking pics. from your good digital cam of some beautiful locations, animal(like your street dogs in a moody way) etc..If you want to go higher like Abstract photography and something like that then you may have to take a professional course for that.
Yeah… My SLR can start its work already. Make money from photos. 😉

I have a food blog which has a lot of food photos but never think of using them to make some cash, I don’t have good photography skill but all the photos can be considered good looking, at least all the foods are looked nice.
