3 Reasons Why You Should Join A New Forum

This is a guest post by Venkat from BlognSEO.com.

Forum posting has become one of the most popular and commonly used tactic to drive traffic and to get easy backlinks to your blog/site .

Many a times you start posting in forums which are already established with good user count and good amount of posts. So you are not noticed in the forum until and unless you post huge number of posts daily or you stick with one category and talk like an expert. Even then, all you can expect is a few tens of clicks to your blogs which are listed in your signature.

As a new member, you are always underrated and people tend to respect the already registered members .

forum posting

Now the basic idea is “you become the senior member ” of a forum.

Now here are three reasons that tells why you should join new forums:

1. Because They Are Unexploited

New forums Don’t have high number of members so when you register, you are noticed unlike the already established forums. The other major plus is that the outbound link number is low, so the value of the link also increases. You get the opportunity to exploit the forum for backlinks and traffic as users come by.

2. Respect

Active and regularly posting members are not only respected by the members but also the administrators. Make your way through the post count and try and increase the post count so that when the new members hit the forum, you are already established and you are ready to be showered with some respect. Its basic human nature that people tend to click on the URLs of people with high post count. You better aim at that.

3. Moderation

Once you are established as a good member, admins are more than ready to give you the job of moderators and when you become a moderator, people tend to show 2 times the respect compared to a regular member. When the forum gets established and when they start making money, you can even expect a part of the revenue as a moderator and the admin wouldn’t dare to loose a member like you.

The above reasons were the Advantages of new forums and here’s a list of tips on doing it rightly.

5 Tips For Forum Posting On New Forums:

1. Talk Like A Expert : Talk like a expert , people respect members who can give appropriate answers to their questions and help them with their questions .

2. Do Some Research : Even if you dont know that answer to some question or concept, do some research and learn about the concept and then post it . It would not only increase your knowledge but also would bring some respect .

3. Maintain Professionality : Post only on what you know and what you can do to help people. Maintain professionality around the forum be it in your posts , actions or even avatars.

4. Dont Try To Increase Your Post Count :  When you are dedicated to a  forum or a subject, the post count increases without your notice. Just concentrate on the niche and the post count will be increasing on its own. Trying to increase your post count or setting it as your primary goal would destroy your professionality and thus the respect owned.

5. Formatting : Posting in a particular format attracts users and they tend to remember you by watching the format of your post. The most widely used formats include colors, text size and “regards” .

Well thats the end of the guide to better posting and do not hesitate to join new forums !

  2. I’ve joined a few new forums and tried my best to help bring in new people but so many forums that pop up have a really hard time surviving.

Forums are awesome to connect on a long term basis, build backlinks and build respect because the forum owner will immediately recognize your commitment.

Another bonus for joining early is the chances you can become a moderator which may lead to even greater benefits like pay and authority.

  3. yes, i agree with you, and if you can make a list of best of them, you will win the internet marketing game, i usually use them when i begin a new site for indexing purpose, with a long run, they will be useful as you invest some times to post… thanks very much.

    1. yes , thats true . Just try to be a loyal member and the admins’ gonna love you. They can make you a mod , that gives you additional signature space > faster backlinks > good traffic. Expecting some money for loyalty isn’t that bad at all. thanks for commenting Mike !

  4. These are good tips but i think that in terms of SEO, it will be better to post on the old and established forums. It is right that on established forums, you will not be getting the respect and attention that you may want, but you will still be getting some good backlinks to your websites. And we know that keyword anchored back links from the established websites and forums can never be equal with the links from new forums.

But if you just want to increase your readers and followers, then new forums is the good way.

  5. Hi Venkat as your first guest post, I like by reading your article. Well I am not agree with that point, that on the new forum you get good backlink as there are little outgoing link, if the forum is new obviously the PR also might not be good , so your backlink quality will not not be good also.

    1. Thanks for pointing out on that specific point. With the increase in the number of forums these days , the quality of a forum backlink has obviously decreased and unless you’ve thousands of them it wont make a difference (could it be DP or SP or any other forum).

Now if you didn’t know, there’s a SEO factor called OBL ( out bound links ) which calculates the number of links leaving the site. The lesser OBL , the better backlink it would be ….

so what would you choose ?? a Thousand backlinks from a forum with 400 OBL or a thousand backlinks with 20-30 OBL + Traffic + Respect + Money ….

  6. Joining a new forum could be a waste of time.

If you join a new forum most likely that forum will not be getting much traffic therefore the chances of your link being clicked are slim.

Personally, I believe you should join a well populated forum. Like you said Venkat, if you act professional, have confidence and show a friendly posting signals there is no reason why should not build a good reputation up fast and gain the respect of the other members.

    1. Well, just try to thnk for a moment. Each and every forum starts new . Every “big boy” starts with a single post . You cant rule out any new forums saying its a waste of time.

This is an account of my personal experience :- I joined DP and many other forums and participated very much actively and had over 2000 backlinks for my other blog , i know thats not enough but from the knowledge i have spread i should receive atleast 10 clicks daily . But i wouldn’t receive even 10 clicks monthly. People at Older forums just require content , they need to know something and thats it and they don’t give a damn about the person who posted it.

And when i joined a new forum with around 1000 members and half of them posting regularly , i was awarded a moderator job when i reached the 50th post mark. It all changes so quickly and i would receive atleast 50 clicks daily .

I bet you wont receive immense traffic from forums unless you have advertised your site in such a way that are walking on a string to receive a warning or even getting banned.
