This is a guest post by Whiztechy who writes about blogging tips and wordpress theme at ShoutMeLoud.com. In the following post, you will discover what are the important personal qualities that a blogger must have and should improve on to be a successful blogger.
When People ask me what’s my profession and I say them blogging then many of them give a negative reply that it’s hard to succeed in blogging career and become a professional blogger.
But I guess blogging is just not another career; if anyone want to succeed in blogging he must have few qualities. OK Here I am not going to share qualities like knowing HTML, WordPress etc. because you can learn all these things with time. I am sharing few personal qualities which help bloggers to grow success and achieve their goals.

Explorer:
One quality which all successful bloggers have is to be an explorer. Bloggers love to explore new things and try hard to learn new and productive ways to get success. Keep yourself updated with technology; new tips and tricks are very important if you want to be a professional blogger. Bloggers love to tweak new tools, software’s, blogging platforms etc. If you have the quality to learn new things then blogging is your cup of cake.
Smart/Hard Worker:
I have never seen any bloggers saying that “Today’s work is completed”, there is no end to work in blogging. The more work you do the more is pending right from writing, commenting, social networking, link building and more. In fact many of the successful bloggers find 24 hrs less to do their work. Thus you need to be a smart as well as a hard worker if you want to start blogging and get success.
Consistent:
Many newbie’s think that blogging needs time and hard work at the start and once blog gets popular it’s easy to handle it and doesn’t requires focus. But it’s a myth, it takes equal effort to stay successful. There are so many other blogs which are getting successful too and to be in competition you need to be consistent with your work. You need to have self-discipline, self-motivation to accomplish your goals.
Extrovert:
Bloggers are very expressive and confident. They are always ready to share new and useful things with readers. You should have ability to put your views and reviews in front of readers or other bloggers. Only writing article is not enough; you need to promote your blog too thus you need to be active on social networks too. Thus to become successful blogger, you need to be extrovert and confident to share your knowledge with others.
Stand Against Hurdles:
Just like other careers, blogging path is also filled with lots of hurdles such as negative comments, less traffic, lack of money, lack of time, banned from Google etc. But if you have quality to stand again even after facing ups and downs of blogging then blogging is for you. If you want to be a successful blogger then you must know how to keep yourself motivated at bad times too.
Apart from it the most important thing you must have to become a successful blogger is Passion. Thus don’t just start blog for money start for hobby or passion and you will meet your dreams for sure.
Meanwhile, do share with us which quality defines you best as a blogger?

I accept hard work is needed for every expert blogger. I think writing skills also really very important to become a successful blogger since blogging is all about writing. Many people are trying to become blogger. So I feel it’s the next large social network.
I’m definitely in agreement about the need to be extroverted — and I’d add FRIENDLY. It’s not enough to boldly proclaim your point of view. If you support others when they do the same, if you encourage them in reaching for their goals, you can make connections that are reciprocal.
Only when you are an extrovert while expressing your blogs will impart it a different shade, which will definitely make it interesting for your readers. Only thing to take care is that you have to subtly explain the reason of being an extrovert!
I agree with your post .And in my opinion , a blogger should be a patient person to keep the passion’s flame burning ^^ It’s very hard to keep blogging when you see no income in a couple of months . To be a professional blogger ,I think everyone must be serious and hard working .
If a man don’t have these qualities then its likely that he would be success blogger. Thanks I will improve my skills with these tips.
as i have already said earlier , there should be well thought out planning aswell to beat the competition and manage time .
Hi Whiz, you said it well especially the Consistency part. It’s true, in blogging one must exert an effort continuously because people everything on this planet is fleeting so we need to keep up to date.
If you aren’t willing to take risks, you couldn’t possibly developed this traits. Perhaps one will not even go down the path of blogging if they dwell on the risks.
A worthy blogger is always curious to know more! The more information he gathers and processes, the more easily his words will flow in his blogs. As for me, I enjoy having a dig at blogs which have diverse topics & how fellow bloggers write those. This is the biggest education for me as a blogger.
I am thankful for this post! There are many blogs all around the web, which speak at lengths about blogging, but most them address the technical/marketing aspects of it. I guess the above stated qualities are the basic requirements, which a blog author must possess to gain some success.
The most dreaded enemy of a great blog is negative comments, which can turn even the strong-willed author away from writing for a while. Just remember to ignore & delete any negative comment, personal vendetta and of those sorts. Instead try to observe what diverse points, commentators have mentioned and educate yourself more on the topic.
Being an extrovert is something and expressing true facts & figures in your blog is another. Yes you have to stand up and shout in what you believe in, but take care that your readers are fed with facts not assumptions. If they get real information from you, they will always be back for more.
