Yes you could have purchased hostgator shared hosting plan for just $36 or so for 3 yrs. during black Friday firesale when at a time they offered 80% off their hosting.
Unfortunately, the black friday deal is over now and sources says that the 80% off offer during black friday only lasted 5-10 minutes as hostgator stated that it will be applicable till stocks last. I am sure many people who got in hostgator at that costs are lucky!

I am already hosting my websites with host gator. I signed up for the Shared Hosting for about five bucks a month. Do these special offers still apply to you if you already have an account with them? I ask this because I would love to switch to the Dedicated Servers for just $34.99 per month, that is a steal.
These offers are only for new customers, you can’t renew your plan at these rates. But if you considering to purchase different hosting package then it’s for you.
