How To Comment On A Corporate Blog To Get BEST Benefits

This is a guest post by Michael Chibuzor from Blast4Trafficnow.net.

Are you a fan of blog commenting?

Off course, when I read a blog that inspires me, I’m always delighted to contribute. Not necessarily because I love the post or the author, I need to fuel my internet engine and traffic happens to be the only way.

Do you know that commenting right can send an avalanche of targeted traffic to your blog within few days? There is a proper way to comment on a corporate blog that bring results. If you want to give this a shot, you need to understand some fundamental concepts about corporate blogs.

Corporate Blog… What Is That?

I have thrown this word around so much, and it’s vital I explain what it means.

A corporate blog is a blog that has its own voice, desperate to solve her readers’ needs and add value with every single post. And also, a corporate blog also has a huge readership and good page rank.

Content Vs. Context

In this information age, we all know the importance of content and often, we refer to content as being king. Well, I have no questions whatsoever. In this era, people are mindful of what they read. If you could offer a shortcut to achieving something; your uniqueness would stand out in the blogosphere.

Content is vital but context is better. The context of a blog post is the way you create your content to match the needs of your immediate and future readers. It’s not all about the length of a post these days, but how much solutions you deliver.

A corporate blog is known for their concise contextual sharing. If you must succeed in commenting on this type of blog, you need to align your thoughts and make it worthwhile.

Alright, that’s all about being corporate and what they stand for.

Now, back to the commenting strategy… Before Writing Your Comments,

1. Read the Comments Policy

A lot of bloggers don’t have time to read the guidelines of a top blog before commenting. I made this same mistake in the past and what did I get –  my comments which I presumed to be decent were deleted? Don’t let that happen to you. The first approach is to understand what the author wants and give it to them.

If a corporate blog allows you to use your keyword on the title, then go ahead and use it. If not, don’t play smart or else you could get slammed.

Sushant Says: Don’t forget to read SmartBloggerz comment policy. Many of you have broken it but I am strict in comment moderation and I mostly drop them or change it in my way which you may not like. So take a minute today, and read comment policy of this blog.

2. Read The Blog Post

Don’t just glance through, you would definitely be commenting off topic. Like I said earlier while explaining content vs context, the posts are filled with contextual highlights. There is no better way to understand what the author is trying to pass across than to read it.

Another great mistake people make while commenting is to read other people’s comment and then follow the same approach. If you ask me, this is not a good practice, because every individual (blogger) understand things differently. I might see the post from a different perspective and that made me to comment thus.

Your image as a blogger is very important – you need to stand out from the crowd and make a difference.

3. Write As Natural As Possible

While commenting, don’t try to get other readers through to your blog. It doesn’t work and I will prove it. Majority of bloggers are already well vast in their various niches. What they are looking for is not the basic information, absolutely not! They are seeking for helpful and a little above the basic. If you don’t know the topic of the post like your next meal, don’t contribute. Simply appreciate the author and ask a question if you prefer that.

Do you know that whatever you do or say as a blogger is transparent? I mean, people can see right through and judge you from that very point.

Do yourself a big favor, write as though you are talking to the author. Don’t forget to use hilarious words and quotes. This is priceless!

4. Be Creative

Just like anything meaningful in life, you should be creative as you write blog comments. Everyone appreciates it when you present a topic from a clear perspective. If you know the topic of the post like you know your spouse, don’t hesitate to write a decent comment. Share your thoughts as natural as possible. I have experienced an upsurge of traffic on my blog by practicing these simple tips. I’m sure these tips are not difficult; you can abide by it if you want.

All in all, a corporate blog is not one hatched out of heaven; they started somewhere before they added that charming “corporate” as a prefix to their cap.

If you persevere and churn out quality content, having the right context in mind, you’re going to join the likes of copybloggers and others soon.

But you must take action no matter how little. Will ya?

  1. Yes I am a huge fan of blog commenting and love reading blogs because they provide me with loads of information and ideas. Sometimes it so happens you follow a blog so much that you start feeling as if it is yours. You need to read the post and then comment in right manner and also follow all the comment policies.

  2. Posting comments which offer something to the discussion is a great way to also show your knowledge on that topic and if people feel they want to learn more from you, then they will click through.

This is why I agree that comments should not be written in a way “to try to get other readers through to your blog.” Often times when people are tricked into clicking, the traffic is worth almost nothing in terms of value.

    1. Thank you Richard for commenting. Yes, we all need to solve problems everyday and what better can we achieve that in a blog that doesn’t belong to us, if not by leaving a comment with the view of changing the lives of those who come in close contact with it.

  3. You are exactly right Michael, I too used to do the same mistake of not reading the comments policy, and even sometimes i would not read the post and go through others’ comments and put a comment in same way, exactly as you said. But now i realize that those were some silly mistakes of mine, which could be harmful to me in future. Now see, in this comment itself I am trying to follow you. I am being as natural as possible…lol.
Anyways, thanks for this great post..!

    1. You got the point Akshay, it’s great to know that this post is already changing the thoughts of people and blogging in general. Yes, you are being natural in your comments right here, I can see through it and guess what? you’re heading for great reputation that money cannot buy.

  4. I consider bloggers like the story tellers of Arabian Nights wherein a wise man would always have a story to tell. Through that story he would share some valuable experience, a piece of wisdom, a mindboggling puzzle, a lesson learnt or just an observation. And he would always have devoted listeners around who would once in a while make a small comment that would keep on energizing the story teller … so I always consider those comments as necessary messages that keep on telling a blogger that there are people keenly listening in and keep the energies of the blogger high.

  5. Blog commenting really helps me drive tons of targeted traffic to my blog every month. We should consider commenting on reputed blogs that are in our niche only and not on unrelated blogs. Moreover, as you say, we should only post quality contents as it not only saves us from our comment being deleted but also saves us from our comment being marked as spa m. Once it is marked spa m and comes in akismet database, it is not easy to escape then.

  6. Corporate blogs are the hardest to please. You really have to put sense to your post or else you’ll be sure you won’t see them. 🙂 Thanks for the tips.

  7. There is definitely an art to leaving comments on blogs so to speak. I always try to be myself when leaving comments, and always make sure to leave my real name whenever I am using a keyword. I feel that makes me seem more real. One tip I would have, your first ever comment on any blog should be your absolute best that you have, this is your time to impress the owner! Its sort of like your first audition/interview for a job.

    1. I think you are truly faithful to commenting. From the way you sounded, I can see that you’re passionate about the kind of content you write, you really want to impact lives and that too is what I’m trying to send across. Isn’t it wonderful to comment on a blog and get huge click through rate?

    2. I will have to agree with you Jean. The first one will either mark you as spam or will make you a regular commenter of the blog.

      1. Dianne, that is exactly my experience. Most of the time it will be accept or spam, since webmasters are not fond of spam comments. Also I should of mentioned that for blogs that moderate all the comments, you have to on your ‘A’ game for every comment. Either way though you should give an effort.

  8. Sometimes, we feel like commenting with real feelings. But, the spam comments (thank you, very good article, nice post) are the main culprit to make the author to delete the real comments. If we make some serious discussions with the author of the post with some reply after reply, then you will have a nice reputation among the bloggers. It is good for direct traffic as well.

  9. As a newbie, I am into reading blogs so that I could more relevant information about blogging. I also would like to comment in order to be heard and share what is my idea about what’s posted.

As to corporate blogs, I only know it from your post. Very well explained. Thank you.
