Here are a few simple but important tips for getting traffic to your blog:

1. Interesting Topic
This is probably one of most important aspect of successful blogging. If your blog is about an interesting topic or about a topic which is searched a lot by many people the chances of having a successful blog are high. It would be much easier to get traffic to your blog if you chose the right topic.
2. Customize Your Blog Design
Everyone is attracted to a well designed and professional looking blog. For many people even if you put up a great content but your blog looks boring they are unlikely to return or spend much time in your blog. A professional looking blog can help you get traffic to your blog. You don’t need to spend a lot of money for this and can get custom templates for reasonable prices for your blogs.
3. Blog Commenting
Blog commenting is one of best way to increase your blog ranking and improve its performance. You just need to find blogs related to the things you want to blog about and then make useful comments on them. This can be a powerful way of getting traffic to you blog. Try and say something interesting and make them want to come see what else you have to say and this will get more visitors to your blog.
4. Listen And Talk To Your Readers
Most blogs fail because the audience views and opinions are not listened to. If you are serious about getting traffic to your blog you should try to listen and talk to your audience. If a person has visited your blog and left a comment you should at least try and thank the person for that. If a person leaves a comment on your blog and the next time he visits he finds that there is no acknowledgement for it he may move away and never visit your blog again.
Interacting is really important because if you don’t interact with them, you won’t feel like a real blogger.
5. Post Frequently
Don’t just blog once a week and expect to get traffic to your blog. Try to post at least once in two days if not daily. This will help to keep your readers entertained and interested. So posting regularly is also a great way to drive traffic to your blog.Posting often has been proven to increase your blog’s RSS subscribers. It will have a positive impact on your blogging experience and more people will read your content and even share it.

Hello Fazal. All these points are VERY important to give a little BOOST to traffic. I hear you about good blog design – but I can’t see how that will boost traffic really. I’ve seen blogs with average designs that have GREAT traffic.
You can widen your network and provide useful content to the user, not just for the sake of SEO. Useful content are shared frequently, good list!
Thanks for this wonderful work here. Sometimes some bloggers focus too much on first one while the third issue (3) is also very important for bloggers. Note, If you don’t put effort in building links with your contents and updating it regularly by going commenting on top bloggers, You will only have a little chances success with your blog. It has been tested and most times fail in this regard as well due to inability to links with others and also shares ideas to be know as an experts.
Your topic and design of your blog is very important. Another important thing is the articles on your blog and how well it is related to what your into and what the sub-domain or domain in question.
If your blog is on autoinsnuranceezine.blogspot.com and you when write on making money online you know you will loose traffic and visitors because when they visit your blog or site is not about what really bring them in, well they will leave without maximizing the effectiveness you brought them to your blog while some will not come to your blog/site again and you will miss that visit for life unless you renew your site and the person stumble upon it again.
This is what really happen to me until i site up at billgatesguide.blogspot.com and build enough articles that are interesting to my readers and today I’m enjoying the traffic and my fans are enjoying me too.
First of all – Perfectly crafted. But, i would like to some more deeper! As you say in point # 2, the blog design does affect traffic, but it doesn’t probably help increase the traffic much! It helps in retaining the traffic. If you traffic is mainly from the search engines, the visitors come to your blog for the content, the may find it useful or not, but if your design is good, they are retained and become regular visitors. So the design helps in retaining regular traffic and not increasing it considerably. Same thing goes with point # 4. Listening and talking to your existing readers engages them and makes them regular readers. But, increasing traffic, basically means to bring fresh and new readers to your blog. Engaging your existing traffic basically doesn’t bring new ones!!
Anyways, I am not crossing you, but that’s just a part of discussion!
Keep it up, that’s a great post otherwise!
haha akshay you are right, blog design cant really increase traffic but just give more interest in your visitors in surfing your blog with peace. 🙂
Excellent post Fazal, you listed most important points. Some other points I want to add are effectively using social media sites and SEO. Search engines are the largest source of traffic and so we can’t avoid them. Spending some time to do proper SEO will help us to get a lot of highly targeted visitors to our blog.
Far to many people just slap something for a blog together and hope people click their links.
To me this is totally backwards.
It is absolutely essential that you make blog posts as interesting and useful to your readers as possible. When people do this the popularity will follow. But it will always start with the readers first.
Thanks for pointing out some great ways to interest, inflame and excite readers.
Hello Fazar
I think the best way to get traffics to our blog is by creating good informative content. Presented the content with your style, make your readers stick to it and sure they will keep on coming.
Post frequent or not depend on your need. I prefer post less but concentrated more on the blog promotion.
For instant traffic for blogs, we can also use social networking websites like Google+, Facebook and Twitter. For long term traffic, you must learn and implement SEO. We can also use videos on Youtube. If it goes viral, then BOOM! Tons of traffic.
I think this is one of the great ways that PLR (private label rights) products come in handy. I agree totally that you need to post to your blog consistently to have others continue to come to it and comment on it. But I know too, that it can be difficult to come up with content all the time. So, if you have some PLR that relates to the topic of your blog, you can do a little editing of it and have a post ready to publish in no time at all.
Great post!
